Cool Testimonial

This email is from my friend Jeff Vogel who was one of my online clients. He did a great job!

I was at a crossroads in my personal and professional life. I knew I no longer wanted to study to be an accountant, and was lost on what I wanted to do. I thought about being a trainer but knew that the shape I was in would not show off that I actually even knew what I was doing. Unfortunately, looks matter and I knew I had to change some things.
My training had been going well enough, but I had been kind of floating rudderless. I wasn’t specific with what I wanted to do, and after getting married this past September, I had some flub to lose between the stress and food that is abound with situations such as marriage. I made a determination that I wanted to get leaner at all costs, sacrificing as little strength as possible. I contacted Steel because I loved his blog and his books and knew he did consultations.
Working with Steel was such a pleasure. The training emails were prompt and while the sessions were hard, sometimes downright brutal, he was always there to listen and respond to every email I sent him. We started working together in February and did three months together. All told, I have lost 40 pounds as well as adding about 25 pounds to my deadlift and bench press. My squat has always been the bane of my training but I added about five pounds and solidified my form on it, again with Steel’s help.
The more important part of the consultation wasn’t the lifts and weight loss. It was amazing to be able to learn from a coach doing exactly what I want to do, and since February, I have gotten certified as a personal trainer and am going for the CSCS as well. Finding a path to trek down for the rest of my life was the most important part of this journey. The increased attention from my wife doesn’t hurt either though.

All About Being a Lifer

What's a Lifer? Someone who isn't in to something for just a day, a month, a year...it's for life. Whether its training or your family or your job...it doesn't matter. You work at it, you build on it, you see the big picture . You don't miss workouts because it means something to you. You are like a Shakespearean actor- no matter what is going on in your life, you block it out when it's time to train. You walk into the weight room and all else disappears. Worry about it later.
